Make a Product Donation
Your gifts of products help us continue to provide our holiday outings for low-income seniors. Here are some of the many ways that you can contribute to Community Projects.
Items we are looking for include (but are not limited to) hand soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deck of cards with large print, games, puzzles, hand lotion, Q-tips, Band-Aids, cough drops, hairbrush, comb, nail clippers, nail polish, toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, dish soap, hand & bath towels, dish rags, cleaning supplies, non-perishable food items in cans, napkins, stationery, postage stamps, lip balm, calendars, cosmetics, craft items (especially yarn), umbrella, purse, wallet, tinfoil, saran wrap, wax paper, Ziploc bags, pill boxes, costume jewelry, greeting cards, candles, slippers, nightwear, blouses, shirts, mittens/gloves, hats, scarves, gift certificate to a pharmacy/grocery store (Pick 'n Save, Walgreen's, etc.), clothing (new/nearly new only, no stains or holes). Many seniors ask for little toys/games to give to their grandchildren as gifts (this is a source of self-esteem, to be able to give something to a grandchild).
When you select your donation, think in terms of any item that an elderly person would find useful or enjoyable. Please donate only those items that you would give to your own grandmother or loved one as a gift. The message we want to send to our senior citizens is "I love you."
The Product Donation Committee organizes all product donations. They sort, inspect, count, log, label, and store the donations. We distribute product donations to senior sites to use as bingo prizes for FREE BINGO. This is a fun way to give away care packages and gifts. Or, we organize a small get-together and provide a care package and lunch to each person.
We also accept donations of items to be used as door prizes and raffle prizes (used at our annual fundraisers open to the public). Gift certificates and merchandise are great for these events.

Beverages for Seniors
Low-income seniors can look forward to round-trip bus transportation to our facility for a free buffet lunch including beverages like soda and coffee, 2 hours of live music, and a great time with other senior citizens. Community Projects serves approximately 1,200 seniors at each of these indoor occasions: Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day and Halloween.
We are always seeking beverage donations to be served at these outings. Using donated beverages and supplies will keep costs down and at the same time, will keep the seniors happy.
You can donate:
Apple Juice, Orange Juice, Sugar-Free (like Juicy Juice), regular and decaf coffee, creamer, sugar, sugar substitute, plastic utensils, paper towels, place mats, centerpieces, table covers, vases and flowers, and napkins. If you want to get involved, simply make it a project for your class, troop or group.
We also need two-liter bottles of soda at each of our indoor occasions. Regular or diet cola, caffeine-free colas, regular and diet white soda (Sprite, 7-Up) are all great. The most popular sodas are, in this order, Diet 7-Up or sprite, regular 7-Up or sprite, Diet cola, Root Beer, Diet Root Beer, Ginger Ale, Orange soda, Punch, and then regular cola.
We change our product distribution methods periodically in order to better serve the seniors.
