PROGRAMS

Free Meal Delivery on Holidays
Our volunteers deliver more than 3,000 free hot meals on each of these holidays:
Easter Sunday
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Day
We depend on the assistance of two or three restaurants and nearly 140 delivery volunteers to prepare and transport hot meals to senior housing sites.
Holidays can be very difficult for seniors with physical and mental health difficulties, those who are lonely or depressed, and those with limited resources and income. Rather than expect that our seniors get bundled up to go outside in the cold weather, walk on sidewalks that might be icy, or take public transportation to a meal site, Community Projects comes right to their door. Individuals served by Community Projects for Seniors always know they can count on a hot meal delivered to their door, not before - not after - but right on the holiday, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Senior Outings
Special outings for our seniors bring joy and reduce feelings of loneliness and despair. Community Projects Senior Outing participants experience fun days with friends and friends-to-be within a festive and safe atmosphere.
Community Projects for Seniors serves more than 1,200 hot meals at each of these annual events:
Valentine's Day Party
St. Patrick's Day Party
4th of July Celebration and Picnic
Halloween Party
When our resources allow us, we also provide special sporting event outings, zoo trips, trips to the domes, symphony, ice-skating, theatrical or musical performances.
Annual holiday indoor events are held in the gym of the Marian Center for Nonprofits in St. Francis, Wisconsin or at other banquet halls, such as La Casa de Esperanza in Waukesha, and we schedule a 4th of July picnic each year at varying sites. All our special events include 2-way transportation by private bus, live music, beverages, and nutritious buffet-style meals. Jugglers, clowns and performances by a variety of local artists and school groups round out these special gatherings where friends, family and volunteers enjoy a good chat, some terrific food and loads of hugs, all free for low-income seniors. Program events are closed parties, and are not open to the public.
