Our Mission
To brighten the everyday lives of low-income senior citizens. We fight loneliness, reduce social isolation, create human connections, and build community, by delivering free hot meals on holidays, delivering care packages, and hosting social events.

Senior Programs
Community Projects for Seniors provides programs for low-income senior citizens residing in subsidized apartment buildings.
Holiday Meal Program

Currently, there are about 4,000 seniors receiving a complimentary, hot and hearty, ready-to-eat meal from Community Projects for Seniors every year, right on:

Easter Sunday | Thanksgiving Day | Christmas Day

15,000+ individuals are eligible to receive a
holiday meal.

Individuals who sign up for a meal usually:
-
Don't have family (in the area or at all)
-
Don't have a place to go for the holidays
-
Don't have access to transportation
-
Can't easily walk or drive (due to weather conditions and/or a disability)
-
Find it physically challenging to cook

Receiving a meal from a smiling face, along with a friendly conversation, is just as important as the meal itself.
The interaction between our volunteers and seniors may be the only social engagement the senior had all day. Toast might be the only other thing eaten all day.
Most seniors tell us they love the Holiday Meal Program! Not just for the delicious meals, but also because of the loving experience our volunteers provide them.

That's how each holiday, this program creates more human connections and builds community through our hundreds of volunteers, brightening the lives of thousands of less fortunate senior citizens.
Social Gatherings Program

We bring the fun right to the community room of each subsidized apartment building we serve, with social events consisting of:

Bingo or Live Music | Lunch or Snack
Puzzles | Board Games | Door Prizes
Useful Gifts (Care Packages)
And More Fun!
[This program also includes transporting eligible seniors for Nature Trips to peaceful West Bend, WI throughout the summer.]

We understand social interaction is crucial to the mental and physical well-being of all people. Seniors especially tend to feel more lonely and isolate themselves because of:
-
Loss of their spouse and/or loved ones
-
Inability to work or pick up hobbies
-
Limitations due to income and/or health

Our programs and volunteers strive to fight loneliness and reduce social isolation by serving up smiles and good conversation, which helps seniors feel valued as human beings, and not forgotten.

That's why our senior citizens look forward to our events! They love how each social gathering is accessible, complimentary, and comes packed with unlimited fun!
Care Package Program

An annual care package is delivered to each senior resident among the 200 buildings we serve, across 50 cities of Southeastern Wisconsin; which totals to over 15,000 care packages.
Each care package typically contains common household essentials such as:

Toilet Paper | Paper Towels | Facial Tissue
Bar Soap | Wash Cloths | Cleaning Rags
Puzzle Books | Pencils | Chapstick
And More!

*Package contents dependent on product donations received, but always include first (3) items*

Between inflation and being on a fixed income, seniors may struggle to make ends meet each month. Making it more difficult to afford common household needs.

Receiving Care Packages every year reduces some of the stress, and allows seniors to budget for other essential items.

Delivering Care Packages is one of the best ways to brighten the lives of seniors by providing them with peace of mind and consistent reminders that they matter to those around them.
